College Life

Every issue of the newspaper strives to give you an insight into the lives, opinions, thoughts and feelings of our students as well as detail the numerous school events and achievements. In the previous issue we brought you the news and views of the college alumni overseas whereas in this issue we will literally focus closer to home and show you the new residential section ”Millenium”.

In addition we will also share our students’ perceptions of independence and the reasons why they chose to study in an independent school. Furthermore we will have a look at what Liberation day means to us and more importantly of what it means to us as a country, college and as individuals to be independent. The other theme of this edition celebrating St.Valentine’s day is love and again students express their experiences and perceptions of this emotion or state.

Over the winter many events have taken place both within the walls of the college and out in the community. To mention but a few, before christmas students visited a special school in the village of Novo Selo and held an extremely glamourous charity ball raising much needed funds for our charity projects.

The school welcomed The Vice Consul of The U.S Embassy in Bulgaria, who gave a talk about American-Bulgarian relations and international events from a U.S perspective, students responded with many thought provoking and challenging questions.

In true democratic fashion students were given the opportunity to shed their uniforms and for a day demonstrate their own ideal uniform and perform a fashion show.

The college volleyball team recently triumphed in the municipal contest, and we welcome one of their key players Denislav Atanasov onto the team as our sports correspondent.

As the bleak winter ends and the days get warmer, longer and brighter, we wish you all the best until the next edition and we hope you will again enjoy reading our work and our opinions.
