8th B grade visited the American Kukui Corporation IT company

The students from the 8th B grade and Veselina Marinova, their class IT teacher, visited the American Kukui Corporation company where they learned how various IT products for real clients are developed. They saw how different teams such as programmers, designers, people who are in charge of making money from advertising and specialists who process the necessary data take part in the process of the IT products developing.

First, students visited the programmers’ office. There they saw how the specialists use certain programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C, C++, SQL, etc. One of the programmers explained them how he usually works and told the students that it is not necessary for them to learn all of the code combinations by heart because the well-known Google search engine is usually used for this.

Next, they visited the designers’ office. One of the specialists there showed the students how he often works with Photoshop. Then he retouched some photos. He told them that he had used YouTube video tutorials to learn how to use the program.

When the students visited the next office, they were greeted with the words “Do you know what an advertisement is?” The online advertisements in Bulgaria are perceived as something annoying and many people do not click on them. In the USA, however, people earn a big amount of money from them. One of the web advertisements developer said that it is not difficult to manage an advertisement. The only thing that people need in this case is their English language knowledge (or other languages according to the country they work in) and mathematics.

In the next office the students met one of the programmers who showed them what a real data processing is. They learned that there is a special server where less codes are used and the operations are performed faster. One of the preferred languages for this is C# (as well as JavaScript).

Finally, the students were contented with the new things that they had learned. They were happy to become a part of the whole process of IT products creation. They managed to find new friends in the American company as well.
