A meeting with Christopher Buxton
Christopher Buxton – a writer and friend of Bulgaria visited American College Arcus. He was our guest as part of the forum ‘Foyer of the Autographed Book’. Those who attended the meeting were impressed by the versatile talents of the British author. He told us about his favourite moments in Bulgarian history, his translation work, the plots of his novels, which was all combined with several exceptional musical performances. Mr Buxton answered the students’ questions, among which there were some about the years when he was teaching our poetess Petya Dubarova in the English Language High School in Burgas. In fact, with his translations of Bulgarian classics Christopher Buxton is an ambassador of our culture to the world. His amazement with our history and traditions provoked in everyone some thought about the value of our nationality.
