A meeting with the remarkable Bulgarian writer Anton Donchev
Just before the national celebrations of The Day of Bulgarian Education, Culture and Slavic Script on 24 May, students and teachers from American College Arcus attended a meeting with the remarkable Bulgarian writer Anton Donchev. The event took place in VTU hall. Ivan Granitski - director of Zahari Stoyanov publishing house- presented some amazing facts related to the work and life of the author who has been one of the most published authors of modern Bulgarian prose. Anton Donchev himself, being an eloquent and touching speaker, managed to get the audience involved and interested in the talks for more than an hour. The author of Vreme Razdelno (Time of Parting) took the audience to another historical dimension by discussing the miracle of the alphabet and the power of Bulgarian language; the intelligence of the medieval rulers and the invincibility of our army; the ancient Bulgarian wide belt which separated the human body into two halves- one celestial and one terrestrial; the secrecy of Bogomil movement; the light squirting from the motherland; the uniqueness of Bulgarian culture… Words full of wisdom, words entangled within one unforgettable lesson teaching us how to be patriots.
