Denislav Bonchev of 12B has qualified for the national rounds of two olympiads!
It is not the first time Denislav Bonchev, a student in grade 12B at American College Arcus, has qualified for the national rounds of two olympiads – astronomy and geography and economics. We are so proud of his remarkable achievements, the result of consistent work, love of knowledge and dedication to science. Here is what Denislav himself told us about it:
Participation has always been my priority since it has allowed me to broaden my horizons and improve myself. My interest in geography goes back to primary school; I used to pore over the world map and learn about the location of countries and their population, natural resources, flags along with many other interesting facts, which could be drawn from them. My passion for knowledge carried me onwards to high school – American College Arcus – where my geography teacher Ms. Desislava Simeonova helped me develop my potential, using innovative teaching methods, and achieve a lot in the field of geography and economics. Let me also thank my family here for the unconditional support they have given me through.
An insatiable thirst for knowledge has connected me with the second science I have distinguished myself in – astronomy. Back in grade 8, I challenged myself by enrolling for the school’s round of the astronomy olympiad, which further led to my annual qualification for and participation in the national contests to date. I put it down to my extensive knowledge in the subject as well as to my physics teacher Ms. Greta Georgieva, for whom I have the greatest respect. She has taught me facts and skills, which can be hardly measured, and I can say without doubt that she is one of the best professionals I have worked with. All this has helped me choose my career path.
