Elena Georgieva from VI a grade, American College Arcus Ltd is the school champion in Spelling Bee 2024 competition

On 28.02.2024 in American College Arcus Ltd, Veliko Tarnovo the school round of the 14th edition of the National competition in spelling in English- Spelling Bee was held. The school champion- Elene Georgieva, won the contest by spelling correctly the word dynamic. Second in the competition was Alina Nenova from the same class. Both students will continue with their participation in the regional qualifications of the competition Spelling Bee, which will be held  from 14-17 March 2024, and the best students will take part in the regional contests on 23 March 2024. Even though some students were not classified in the regional competitions , all contestants had an excellent performance and are motivated to demonstrate skills in the next edition of the contest!!!

The spelling contests("spelling bees") are traditional American competitions in which the participants have to spell, letter by letter, the most number of words. The unpredictable spelling of the words in the English language increases the complexity of the contest. The competition makes English language and interesting area for the students and improves their knowledge through entertaining interactive activities. The element of competition is a strong motivation for the participants, and the emotion is beyond comparison. The school Spelling Bee competitions are often turned into a celebration for the whole community. 

This year the participants in the competition have the opportunity to be included in an accompanying campaign. Its moto is BEE Green, which encourages the students to be proactive in various initiatives related to protection of the environment. it is important for us to trigger responsibility, care and love for the planet Earth. each month(from November to March) we send a challenge. The tasks are related to healthy way of living, limitation of the harmful to the environment products, as well as saving of the natural resources. We share interesting ideas with the contestants and  entertaining activities which encourage them to be greener in their every day life. Together we can help our planet and make it a better place.

The National competition Spelling Bee is organized by Foundation Corps for education and development- CORPluS with the partnership with Foundation "America for Bulgaria", The US Embassy and the Ministry of Education and Science. Interlogistica is our logistics partner; they provide the prizes for all participants in the competition.
