On March 21, 2026, the national round of the International German Language Olympiad, organized by the Goethe-Institut, took place in Sofia. Over 460 students from 46 schools across Bulgaria competed in the qualification round. Only 15 students per level (A2 and B2) advanced to the national finals. We are proud that among them is Todor Velikov, a 10th-grade student at American College Arcus Ltd.

According to the official regulations, only the top three participants in each level are awarded rankings, with first-place winners receiving a scholarship to represent Bulgaria at the international round. This year, it will be held in July in Mannheim, Germany. All other participants are recognized as national finalists.

Todor’s achievement—ranking among the top students in Bulgaria at his level—is a remarkable success and a source of pride for American College Arcus and the city of Veliko Tarnovo. We congratulate him and wish him success in his future endeavours.
