Halloween night at the college
A very exciting event happened at our school - Halloween night at the college! Our 5th, 6th and 8th graders, dressed up as various creatures and characters in the spirit of Halloween, faced many challenges on Thursday evening (the 27th of October), competing for first place. Divided into teams, consisting of students from each of the year groups, they set out on a Scavenger Hunt. During their "journey" through the college halls and corridors, they had to tackle numerous challenges like riddles, word games, puzzles and all kinds of brainteasers to earn 15 words, which they then used to fill in the gaps in a Halloween poem. The teams had to be fast and accurate in order to win. The poem appeared a bit difficult for the teams and everyone made small mistakes, but the team that was the fastest and also made the fewest mistakes was team Aliens - they finished the race in 1 hour 12 minutes and won first prize - sweet treats to share. BUT they weren’t the only ones to get the treats - there was PLENTY of them for all the participants. Thank you to everyone who prepared wonderful homemade delights!!! We also thank the two hosts who brilliantly coped with the task and we are sure that more such exciting jobs await them in the future!!! All the students from the 9th and 10th grades deserve big thanks, for they turned into our good magical assistants and created the puzzles and brainteasers!!! We need to mention our 8th-grade scary story writers as well, who used their vivid imaginations to create their stories! In addition to the prizes for the winners of the Scavenger Hunt, the authors of the stories, some of the culinary delights, as well as some of the well-crafted pumpkin lanterns were also awarded. To be honest, awarding prizes for the cakes and lanterns was the most difficult task for the judges - they wanted to give prizes to absolutely everyone, but unfortunately, they had to choose only some of them. The atmosphere on the evening of the party was wonderful and the students had so much fun - no one felt like leaving at the end of the evening!
