Innovative methods of teaching at American College Arcus®

On 24 February teachers Margarita Marinova, Susan Botcharova and Kameliya Antonova organised a combined Bulgarian-English interactive lesson in 8A grade on 'Exploring the Richness of Bulgarian and English Phrases'. Working in groups, students had to write a number of Bulgarian metaphorical phrases and find a good match for them in English and vice versa. Throughout they discovered curious similarities and differences between the two languages, enriched their vocabulary and practised their speaking skills. At the end of the lesson they made a bilingual display decorating a Tree of Knowledge to be hung in the classroom. Students and teachers had a great time accomplishing the task and hope that such joint educational classes will prove good practice in American College Arcus.
