Maya Aleksandrova - Gold Medal Winner at the National Karate Championship

The National Karate Championship "Gabrovo" for kids, cadets, juniors, men and women was held on October 20 and 21, 2018. The event was part of the annual sports events' calendar of the Bulgarian National Karate Federation. 29 karate clubs listing 532 participants competed in different disciplines - kata and kumite, team and individual events. Maya Aleksandrova - a student from 8A class of American College Arcus, came first in the 54-kg-kumite-category for female cadets and she also came third among the kata female cadets.The karatekas of the karate club "Aleko" from the town of Svishtov, one of whom is Maya, qualified for the 19th Balkan Karate Championship which is to take place in Dubrovnik, Croatia, between October 10 and November 2, 2018.
