A different German lesson
On a sunny day at the end of October, Mrs Stella Slavcheva and her 12A students had their German classes in a slightly different way. After the virtual tour of Hamburg and Erfurt in the classroom, students went on a walking tour in the old town of Veliko Tarnovo. They started off from Petko Slaveykov’s home, which is in close proximity to our school, and went on to stop at the House with the monkey in Samovodska Charshiya; Stefan Stambolov’s monument; Emiliyan Stanev’s house and museum; Velchova Zavera memorial; Nikola Piccolo’s monument; the museum of waxworks and right down to Tsarevets Fortress. On their way back, students passed by the museum “Vazrajdane I Uchreditelno Sabranie” and then stopped at Sarafkina House in Gurko Street. For each of the afore-mentioned sights, they had prepared a short, tour-guide-kind-of talk in German to bring some interesting facts from the history, culture and everyday life of the Bulgarians to their peers’ attention.
