Applied Mathematics
On 02.11.2022, during a maths lesson( profiled preparation, "Applied Mathematics" module) the students of class 12 b held a practical lesson in the schoolyard of PSHS American College Arcus. Under the guidance of their teacher Iliyan Yordanov, the students put their knowledge of ellipse and hyperbola into practice. The concrete tiles on the yard floor were used to form the coordinate system. Students drew the ellipse and hyperbola in one drawing. Then, at a point on the ellipse and a point on the hyperbola, tangents to the given curved lines were constructed. Very important for the successful solution of these tasks was the preparation, which the college students did in advance as homework. For all the students of the college, those of class 12b and others, who witnessed this open lesson, it became clear that the graphs of functions can be drawn not only in a notebook, on a whiteboard or on a tablet, but also in unusual places like the schoolyard.
