Meeting dr. Flanagan

The relation between scientific knowledge and its application in various fields of life has always been a priority in the realization of the education process at American college Arcus, Veliko Tarnovo. This concept was basic for the meeting with dr. Owen Flanagan, doctor of medicine and surgery who is a leading neurologist in Meyo Clinic- a worldwide leader in medical care, Rochester, Minnesota,USA. Meyo Clinic, according to the American Newsweek is on top of the ranking for best hospitals in the world for 2022-2023. The meeting took place on 14.06.2023 and was organized by the Department of Natural Sciences in American College Arcus with the cooperation of dr. Bozhana Mircheva. The meting was attended by teachers students of all grades 8-11 who study Natural sciences in American college Arcus. Dr. Flanagan shared his professional experience and told about the history of the clinic from its establishment till now; he also discussed the essence of the profession of neurologist and some basic methods of treating neurodegenerative diseases such as autoimmune encephalopathy, demyelinating diseases, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer disease, etc.
