Solomon Passy at American College Arcus
Visits of prominent figures at the college are already an established practice that has evolved into a tradition. On the 20th of November, our colleagues and high school graders met with one of our most important former foreign ministers - Solomon Passy. Needless to say, we all know him from his political career, which he highlighted for our audience in interesting accents. His contribution to the coming of democracy in Bulgaria is undeniable. In a casual conversation that was by no means devoid of humor, Mr. Passy mesmerizingly led us through a thought journey that felt like an outline of passages from his life, spoken in his narrative voice. But we also had the opportunity to talk about science. That's how we learned about his project, "Hello, Space! Bulgaria calling!"
The time with Solomon Passy passed imperceptibly, which inevitably reminded us of Einstein's Theory of Relativity (whom the former minister said he had great admiration for). Although crowded, the hall was quiet, except when the moment for asking questions came. Conversations with our guest continued informally after the official meeting.
