Students from the Biology section of the Science Club at American College Arcus were among the best in the District round of the Biology and Health Education Olympiad which took place on March 24, 2007. The college was represented by 14 students (out of 65 entrants altogether) in different age groups under the guidance of Mrs. Jenna Staykova.
In the individual competition, Elitsa Stoyanova (9a) came second, which automatically qualified her for the 7th National Competition in Biology which will be held on May 17-19, 2007.
In the 8th grade age group, the fourth place was for Bella Ilieva (9c) and the sixth, seventh, eighth, tenth , twelfth and fourteenth - for Radoslava Stoyanova, Mihaela Sharkova, Joana Georgieva, Kristin Lyaskova, Zvezdelina Dimitrova and Eleonora Mincheva, all from 9a. Zornitsa Todorova (10c) came second; Ivona Ruseva and Denitsa Todorova (10a) had the eighth and the ninth position respectively.
Tihomir Stoev from 11b came sixth among competitors whose special subject at school is Biology. Izabela Ivanova from 11a and Stanimir Pachev from 11b also did very well.
