The opening ceremony for the new academic year 2017/2018
The opening ceremony for the new academic year 2017/2018 was both a solemn and emotional event. On the sunny morning of September 15th, 2017, the students met their classmates and teachers. The ceremony was attended by Mr Yavor Bozhankov, MP, Ms Rozalia Licheva, Chair of the Veliko Tarnovo Department of Education, Ms Penka Ignatova, Director of the Education, Youth Activities and Sport at the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, Mr Banko Bankov, member of the Board of Trustees of American College Arcus. The freshman students took an oath at the beginning of their education at the College. The school community was addressed by some of the most outstanding students – Margarita Karaivanova, winner of the Aneta Karaivanova scholarship for both terms of the 2016/2017 academic year, Antani Ivanov, who won 8th place in the men’s 200 metre butterfly at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships. Mr Yavor Bozhankov, class of 2009, also addressed the students and pointed out that the best investment for young people is education, which can guarantee them a successful future.
